Local animation group to be launched

Be a part of anIM, an exciting new animation group based in Sleaford, led by Lincoln artist, Gavin Street.

anIM is a chance for local people to learn about animation and try their hand at it. The group has been established by artsNK in partnership with Kesteven and Sleaford High School and aims to get more people involved in digital art within their local community.

The initial programme of six sessions will be led by Gavin Street, who will illustrate a range of animation styles as well as demonstrate and teach some of the techniques.

Under Gavin’s guidance, the group will work together on an innovative community project, producing a series of short films that explore the movements involved in exercise and keeping fit. Once the pieces are complete, they may even be used as a practical guide for a health trail around Sleaford.

The cost of the group each week is £4.50 unwaged and £7.50 waged. The group will meet at Kesteven and Sleaford High School Selective Academy,  starting on Wednesday 18 January from 6pm to 8pm.

No previous arts, drawing or animation experience is necessary, just come along and give it a go! Places are limited – please call artsNK’s Visual Arts Manager, on 01529 411190 or email nick.jones@leisureconnection.co.uk to book or for further details.
