Renowned British sculptor William Pye was commissioned in 2002 to create a piece under arstNK’s “Wellsprings and Waterways” scheme, celebrating the role water has played in the formation of the local landscape and settlements. The stainless steel cuboid sculpture features water flowing down its sides.
It is located in the courtyard outside of North Kesteven District Council Offices in Sleaford (it was originally sited in the river Slea outside of Cogglesford Mill, but unfortunately suffered from technical issues in this location due to a build-up of leaves and algae).
It sits in the centre of the courtyard which was designed by artist and garden designer Jeni Cairns and features contemporary planting schemes with colourful herbaceous borders. The courtyard also features a decorative metal bicycle shelter created by Jeni Cairns which depicts a canopy of trees with birds.
