Try Something New This Summer

artsNK Dance Team in partnership with Transported, are putting on an array of Aerial taster sessions, masterclasses and Summer Schools this July and August.

The empty weeks of the summer holidays are looming large, what to do? Why not have a look our Summer Schools, taster workshops and masterclasses – There is something for beginners to the more experienced:

Aerial Masterclass – Hand to Hand Acrobatics with Nikki and JD 

Sunday 16 July, 2pm to 3.30pm, 11+ Peter Paine Performance Centre, Boston. (£20)

Nikki & JD are an acrobatic duo with a unique blend of skills in hand-to-hand gymnastics, capoeira and contemporary dance, with over sixteen years’ experience between them. Since the beginning of their collaboration they have sought to push and refine the use of acrobatics, dance and storytelling. They both trained at the National Centre for Circus Arts. This masterclass is suitable for those aged 11 and up. More info

Aerial Performance Showcase

Wednesday 19 July, 7pm, Peter Paine Performance Centre, Boston. (£2)

An evening of spectacular performances by aerial participants from Transported and artsNK’s regular Boston, Spalding and NK classes. Book tickets for £2 via artsnk@litc.org.uk. Perfect if you’re interested in seeing what aerial is all about before you decide to join one of the regular classes in Boston or Spalding!

Taster Workshop: Acrobalance 

Tuesday 25 July, South Holland Centre. (£5) 8-14 year olds 2-4pm, adults (14+) 6-8pm.

Join Lauren Hendry from the National Centre For Circus Arts for this taster acrobalance workshop, exploring hand balancing and partner lifts. To find out more, visit https://acrobalance.wordpress.com/. This workshop is for those aged 8 to 14 years old. Places are limited so book early to avoid disappointment. Dance + Disability Summer School

Monday 31 July to Friday 4 August (£10 a day)

Our inclusive dance Summer School week is open to all aged 8-18 years with learning and physical disabilities. We will cover a range of styles, genres, and play to encourage co-ordination, mobility and fun! Carers and guardians are welcome to join in and take part, but this is not mandatory. Learn an original piece of dance over a week to perform to all your friends and family! Places are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis – so book early to avoid disappointment.   For more information click here

Taster Workshop: Aerial Dance – South Holland Centre

Tuesday 22 August, (£5) 8-14 year olds 2 – 4pm, adults (14+) 6 – 8pm

Have you ever wanted to join the circus? Why not come and have a taste by trying our silks and hoop class… the perfect way to get fit, confident, strong and flexible whilst having lots of fun! A brilliant way to try aerial dance and see if you’d like to join one of our regular classes. Places are limited and go quickly, so book early to avoid disappointment by calling 01775 764777.

Aerial Summer School, Peter Paine Performance Centre, Boston

Thursday 24 August to Saturday 26 August, 8 – 14 year olds 1pm – 4pm, adults (14+) 6pm – 9pm

Aerial Summer School for those wishing to develop their aerial skills further. Thursday – Rope Masterclass with Justine Squire, Friday – Aerial Silks and Hoop Class.
