A new leaflet for Nocton Village Trail will be launched at a special event this Saturday.
We have worked with Nocton Village over the course of many years to create and commission new artworks for the village which explore and celebrate Nocton’s heritage. Artworks include the Nocton Cow, created by local school children out of old agricultural tools, and the Dandelion Sundial (picture above) designed by Cliff Baxendale. The new leaflet highlights the many artworks in the village, as well as historically significantly buildings and nature.
The guide is illustrated with work from local amateur artists who attended a Sketchcrawl around the village earlier this month. Copies of the leaflet will be available from various locations in Nocton, and as a download from this website following the launch.
Nick Jones, artsNK visual arts manager commented:
“artsNK have been working with Nocton residents for over a decade to develop amazing artworks telling the story of this little communities astonishing and unique contribution to local, county, national and even international events. This new leaflet reflects North Kesteven District Councils long term commitment to culture being an essential part of helping our communities flourish. It reflects artsNK’s approach that builds long term relationships, trust and appetite year on year, so the arts are a dynamic part of the lives of residents and visitors.”
Anyone wishing to join us for the launch of the new leaflet, including a walk around the village, and refreshments in the village hall should contact Muriel.Marr@litc.org. The walk will start at 1pm from Nocton Village Hall.
We would particularly welcome anyone from villages groups in North Kesteven who are interested in working with us to create their own arts & heritage trails in the future.
