Volunteer’s wanted for Dementia Friendship Hub

artsNK is working with The National Centre for Craft and Design on two new Dementia Friendship Hub events. It it hoped that these will become regular events. The Dementia Friendship Hub will provide a suitable and safe environment for people living with Dementia and their carers. The session offers the opportunity to have fun and get involved in a range of activities – which may include creative arts, singing workshops, seated exercise, tabletop games and more. The first two events will take place on Tuesday 20 March and Tuesday 17 April 2- 4pm. We are seeking volunteers to support the groups on these afternoons and at future events.

Volunteers will be required to attend a briefing session from The Alzheimer’s Society to increase understanding of Dementia and what you can do to support people with Dementia in your community on Monday 19 March, 2- 3pm (Please note this free session is open to anyone who is interested, and not only for volunteers.) For more information click here

Volunteers will be required to support staff with roles such as refreshments, signposting people around the building, and general help within the session. If you are interested please email Marion.sander@litc.org.uk with a short statement about yourself and why this is something you would like to do by 10am on Monday 5th March.
