From the 1 October artNK has merged with The National Centre for Craft and Design. The aim of NCCD and artsNK remains to deliver a high quality exhibitions and community arts programme to Sleaford, North Kesteven and the wider community.
As members of the NK Arts Partnership, NCCD and artsNK have worked closely together on projects such as the Ridges & Furrows Arts & Heritage trail, to provide quality arts experiences to residents of North Kesteven, and Lincolnshire. We are currently an Arts Council National Portfolio Organisation with The National Centre for Craft and Design and Design Factory through North Kesteven District Council.
Since April 2018 both organisations have been managed by Lincs Inspire on behalf of North Kesteven District Council and we have tied our programmes together more closely still, working on joint exhibitions such as Circus: Politics, Performers and Pop Culture, and community projects such as the Monthly Friendship Hub at NCCD.
Our visual art and dance team are now working under the umbrella of The National Centre for Craft and Design to deliver programmes that meet the needs of residents of North Kesteven. We will be working together to offer a visual art outreach programme with the local community. We will continue to offer our dance for education programme, youth dance and outreach programme as part of this, as well as developing a dance offer within the NCCD building, through sessions such as our new regular Dance for Parkinson’s classes.
